The programmes at ITT are inextricably linked to establish fundamental brain and developmental connectivity in preparation for children’s independence, school readiness, lifelong learning, and ultimately for their adulthood as citizens of the worlds.

The children are accompanied by an adult throughout the programmes and parental involvement is actively encouraged. ITT believes in the invaluable partnerships between home life and ITT life, and the staff work closely with families to help provide a natural reciprocal relationship to support each child.

  • Sensory Integration

ITT was the first programme in Hong Kong to introduce a Sensory Room into a mainstream children’s educational facility. The activities in the sensory integration programme stimulate the brain and nervous system to develop essential synapsis connections and brain toleration by integrating the vestibular, proprioception and tactile senses. It provides fundamental developmental activities using a bottom-up approach. This sensory stimulation links in with and complements the other learning areas and programmes.

  • Physical Development

In the spacious gymnasium, children experience the benefits of health and physical development. Using safe, and professional grade equipment, the activities promote essential and basic fundamental movement and balance. The fun and games they engage in are an appealing element that helps to promote strong physical development.

  • Language Development

ITT uses English, Cantonese, and Putonghua to meet the trilingual needs of Hong Kong children and has dedicated Language Rooms. Young children are very receptive to learning multiple languages, and each language focuses on the importance of auditory reception, sounds, articulation, receptive and expressive language development, understanding information input, and practicing the art of communication. Stories, songs, rhymes, and lively discussion help children to enjoy being immersed in their exposure to trilingualism.

  • Cognitive & Social & Emotional Development

The Playroom emphasizes individual thought and choice, discovery, concentration, problem solving, cognitive development, independence and self-confidence. It helps the children in their social interaction and graces, responsiveness to the teacher, self-care skills, and preparation for school readiness.

  • Art & Aesthetics

In the Art Room, the children are introduced to experiences involving primary art materials and tools, as well as many new and language provoking tactile activities. The children are encouraged to create, imagine and be inspired to develop an appreciation for aesthetics and begin their own style of creativity.

  • Music

The Music Room promotes music appreciation and skill development. Children are involved in rhythm and sequencing experiences, movement, and singing, with a focus on listening and aural discrimination. The activities encourage active participation and interaction between the adult and child. The children are also introduced to music from around the world and many types of musical genres.
